SEED SPOT Ranked a Global Top 20 Accelerator

Hear ye, hear ye! SEED SPOT is thrilled to share some exciting news – we have been ranked as a “Top 20 Active Accelerator in the WORLD” by the Gust and Fundacity 2015 Global Accelerator Report! This report intends to deconstruct how the accelerator industry has developed globally, how accelerators are funded and monetized, and most importantly, what direction future accelerators will take in the coming years.

The report’s findings were mind-blowing. Out of the 836 organizations surveyed, 387 were qualified as accelerators, or “a proven way to quickly grow a startup by learning from experts, finding great mentorship, and connecting to a powerful network” (Global Accelerator Report 2015). Worldwide, approximately US$191,999,757 were invested into 8,836 startups by 387 different accelerators. Though the vast majority of investing occurred in the USA and Canada, regional investments spanned the continents, boosting local communities and empowering local entrepreneurs.

When the Gust team is not writing reports and compiling prestigious rankings, they are busy envisioning the Gust Accelerator Platform – the world’s largest network connecting the early stage accelerator ecosystem with nearly ten thousand new founders from around the world every month. Because of its prestigious reputation as the number one angel investing program, being ranked in Gust’s top 20 has left us hyped about what the future holds. SEED SPOT made the list alongside powerhouses like 500 Startups and Techstars, some of the most impressive accelerators based in the United States. While most of the other accelerators only work with high-growth entrepreneurs, we are proud to work with social entrepreneurs, those solving an important societal issue. The remaining top 20 global players originate from continents far and wide, ranging from Start-Up Chile in Latin America to iAccelerator in India. Having accelerated 75 startups (within the past year alone!), SEED SPOT is undoubtedly an up-and-comer at #18.

We are oozing with joy and gratitude for this accolade and express sincere thanks to our staff, mentors, community partners, and innovative entrepreneurs that have never failed to dream big.
